SpeakAble is designed to keep your voice and conversations private. All speech recognition and synthesis happens on your device using Apple's built-in services. Your conversations are sent directly to your own Hermes agent — we don't have servers that see your data.
SpeakAble collects no personal data. There is:
All speech recognition (STT) and speech synthesis (TTS) use Apple's on-device SFSpeechRecognizer and AVSpeechSynthesizer. Your voice is processed locally on your iPhone and is not sent to Apple servers.
SpeakAble connects to your own Hermes agent or OpenAI-compatible API that you configure. The text of your conversations is sent to the agent endpoint you specify. We do not have access to this data — it's between your iPhone and your server.
Conversation transcripts are stored locally on your iPhone using SwiftData. They are not synced to iCloud unless you have iCloud backup enabled for the app. You can delete conversations at any time.
SpeakAble is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
